So Sweet

This is my favorite book so far in this series. Nixon and Charlie’s backstory was really interesting. I loved their chemistry. It’s always a pleasure to catch up with the other residents of Mahogany Heights. This book just left me feeling good.

Christina writes those, can't get out of bed all day books. Those, romance so swoon worthy you can't help but be envious of fictional characters books. Those, read, nap, eat, nap, read books. Those, from the very first page you're hooked and can't focus on anything else books.

I think you get the picture.

Its been a while since I read a CCJ book...I've been on a quest to add another author to my current list of TWO, Black authors who write about Black Love in a way that is authentic, consistent and entertaining. Its rough out here in theses streets. And after a few back to back misses, I had to come back to what I know, for the reassurance that what I'm hunting for isn't a faraway or unattainable thing.

I just had a revelation...Fall in Love again, is a little bit like Bending the Rules in that the shell of the story is pretty much the same. Two neighborhood sweetheart that are friends since childhood but don't have a romantic relationship until they are much older, run into some troubles causing the girl to move far away for a long time, only to come back home and have those hurt feelings revisited and to actually hash out their issues instead of running away from them. -- One of my complaints about a lot of contemporary romance novels, is that they're all the same story but with different characters in a different environment.

But what I love about Christina, is that her stories are so unique and different and the characters so distinct, that even though these two books follow pretty much the same formula, not ONCE while reading this book did I think, "wow this feels JUST like Bending the Rules." The only reason I even realized the similarities is because I was sitting here trying to analyze the book, prepping for what I was going to write about.

ANYWAY, Charlie and Nixon are adorable in this book and I loved every minute of their banter, back and forth, flirting and rekindling of their love. It was entertaining to not only get to know them and watch them fall for one another again, but also getting to see them work through their issues. I HATE agnst and love me a happily ever after...but a few hiccups and hurdles in the road makes the HEA that much more rewarding and that was no different for Nixon and Charlie in Fall In Love Again....

And of course, I love the little glimpses of the couples you grow to know and love when reading the previous books in this story. It's like a little Black MECCA. A group of young, successful Black entrepreneurs, all doing their thing and looking out for one another. I LOVE IT!

On to the next one! I think I know who the next book is going to be about, and lets just say I already know its going to be a PRETTY interesting ride.

Not my favorite in the series but I do love me a good second chance romance. this one was a little rough with past miscarriage and then current accidental pregnancy and attendant worries because of prior experience, but Nixon and Charlie were overall a really sweet couple and I enjoyed their journey back to each other and to a HEA.

This book here

This one was great. The weaving of the tale was great. Charlie and Nixon had me from the beginning. Every twist was great. I wanted to shake the two of them at various points in the book. Loved it!

A long and steamy history of love

I have to agree with a friend of mine and say that Charlie and Nix are my favorite couple in the Serendipitous Love series. I enjoyed the intense connection that they shared...steamy! Nix was my type of guy
