The backstory about The Clown Lady, the ghost that Perry sees throughout the series. It was interesting and unexpected.

I'm a huge fan of Dex and Perry. I love everything I have read by Karina. I have completely devoured every book in the EIT series. That being said, I struggled to get through this one. I knew that I wanted to know Pippa's story and that I would need this info going forward, but even that didn't help me get into it. I don't mean to make it sound bad, because it's not - maybe I just missed my Dex fix?

‘Old Blood’ is absolutely critical to this series. Not only did it help to clarify what transpired in ‘On Demon Wings’ but it helped to give insight on what Perry and Dex are dealing with on a day to day basis. It shocked me how connected the cast of character are. Plus any insight to ‘Crazy Clown Lady’ is worth your time. This novella was terrifying and heartbreaking in many ways.

I think that because novellas are so short, the only way to make them anything other than completely pointless is to have them pack an emotional punch, and this short story certainly did. It was devastating and touching and memorable. I absolutely adored it.

Great short story! I was completely enthralled and read it in its entirety in one sitting. I was fascinated, horrified, and heartbroken by Pippa's story. I've never been a fan of Perry's mother, and now I'm REALLY not a fan!

It was interesting to read Pippa's backstory. To be honest though, it didn't really hold my attention until Dex and Perry were mentioned. They are what this series is all about and my people.
