4 stars. A little cringy at times. I do like the characters but there's nothing impactful about the story. Just a fast, enjoyable read.

I’m updating my rating after a reread. Not sure if I’ve just read better sports romances since I read this one the first time but I didn’t vibe as well with this the second time around. I really don’t love when the author makes us sit in on steamy scenes with OW even if it’s prior to the heroine. I also didn’t remember how much his group of friends were straight up unapologetic hoes. I never made it past The Deal last time so hopefully they get better. I did end up really liking Garrett by the end. Hannah’s character was great from start to finish though I didn’t love her narrator. Hopeful that the next one is more my speed.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️4.3 very entertaining read!! Exactly what I was looking for to relax, decompress, and turn my brain off; I didn’t enjoy the poor communication trope at the end, but it overall does make sense

This was an eminently easy and enjoyable read. Like the quick fix that candy gives you - perhaps not the most robust thing to have for your health, but so, so enjoyable when you want to occasionally treat yourself.

I normally cannot stand New Adult. Writers of New Adult often make the store over-the-top angsty and melodramatic. I'm also at a point in my life where I simply don't have the patience for this kind of melodrama when grown adults have to often deal with the relationship issues brought on by these books, but also need to go to a full time job, care for children, clean the house, and a myriad of other responsibilities the come with adulting. So I'm often wanting to shake New Adult characters from frustration.

However, Kennedy does an amazing job of giving readers two lovable characters who behave realistically for their age and who also don't throw themselves on the floor over their feelings, decrying the end of the world. The growth of the hero was laudable, and just like the MCs, the secondary characters were equally lovable.

This one surprised me in a good way, and thanks to Kennedy, I'm willing to read more New Adult. I've realized that I've just simply been reading shitty New Adult or shitty writers of this sub-genre.

So good. The perfect sexy fluffy romance. It was relatable and dealt with real world issues like rape and abuse (Trigger Warning). All around a perfect read. Kennedy’s style of writing is just amazing and this was a book that I had to make myself stop reading so I could go to bed and even then I would think about what was going to happen next while at work. I definitely recommend this book and I can’t wait to read her other ones.
