Okay in all honesty I’ve read this like 4 times. This series is my comfort series. After doing a full depth review I’m gonna give this book a 4.25/5. I love Garrett. I think him and Hannah’s dialogue is so funny and they are just so entertaining. I took points off because the third act break up always annoys me. Like Hannah why are you dumb? You had to “break up” with him cuz his dad said so, why didn’t you tell him about it and just pretend to break up. Like legit that whole grieving period could’ve been prevented considering the boy had money lined up but like ofc she’s dumb. Other than that and the lack of karma for her rapist and his dad being abusive, I love this book. But I also don’t like that his best friend Logan is like mopey and in love with Hannah. Like you barely know her and she’s dating your best friend like get a grip. Idk. But I will prob read this again cuz I know it’s dependable. LOVE ELLE KENNEDY
Spoiler summary:
Garrett Graham is the captain of the hockey team. In order to stay on the hockey team, you have to get good grades. After failing his ethics exam, he’s on the brink of failing the class which would fuck him over for hockey. He accidentally runs into a classmate and picks up her paper and sees she got an A on the exam that most of the class failed. He then starts groveling for her to tutor him, and while she refuses at first, he uses her crush on the football player, Justin, as leverage. She will tutor him and he will bring her to parties to make her social status higher and be recognized by Justin. We also learned that she is a rape victim, and doesn’t drink publicly due to this. She thinks she’s broken because she can’t orgasm, and she asks him to “fix her”. They start hooking up and the more time they spend together the more Playboy Garrett rethinks his new girlfriend policy. We find out his hockey star helicopter dad abused him and his deceased mother all the time growing up. Garrett sets his sights on Hannah pretty early on and they finally end up dating. His dad meets Hannah and threatens her to break up with him or else he’ll stop funding his school. She breaks up with him to try and protect him but after a week he sees through her bullshit and shows up to her winter showcase and starts groveling to get to the bottom of it. Once she goes to yell at him for setting a hands off schoolwide law, She finally admits the real reason why they broke up and he starts laughing because the whole time he’s had money set from his grandparents once he turned 21. then they live happily ever after lol. But like Logan still likes her apparently like for what reason??

“Two,” I reply cheerfully.
“Do you high five yourself?”
“Of course not.” I smirk. “I kiss each of my biceps and then point to the ceiling and thank the big man upstairs for creating such a perfect male specimen.”
“When I snicker, Garrett pounces like a mountain lion. “Holy shit. Was that a laugh? I didn’t think you were capable of showing amusement. Can you do it again and let me film it?”
He’s so entranced by her voice:
“Your voice is…fuck, Wellsy, it’s beautiful.”
My cheeks heat up. “You think so?”
“Play something else,” he orders.
“Um. What do you want to hear?”
“Anything. I don’t care.” I’m startled by the intensity in his voice, the emotion now glittering in his gray eyes. “I just need to hear you sing again.”
“Please,” he says softly.”
“I’m not letting you take a cab and walk through campus at three in the fucking morning. Either I drive you, or you stay here.”
“I bring my lips close to her ear and murmur, “We’re kinda friends now.”
“I heard that,” Garrett pipes up. “And there’s no ‘kinda’ about it. We’re best friends, Nelly. Don’t let Wellsy tell you otherwise.”
“So yeah,” I say with a nod. “If I’m going to be touching and kissing you on Saturday, I think it’s imperative that we rehearse.” I lick my lips again. “Thoroughly.”
“Oh shit. There’s only one explanation I can think of.” I pause. “You’re a bad kisser.”
Her jaw drops in outrage. “I most certainly am not.”
“Yeah?” I lower my voice to a seductive pitch. “Prove it.”
After her and Garrett make out to prove she’s a good kisser, Dean catches them and thinks she’s bluffing when she said it’s “just for practice” so he says he should be the second option and so she makes out with him right in front of Garrett

loved garrett, hannah annoyed me but she was okay, they were kind of boring as a couple though. nothing special but i’m excited to read the other books. especially tucker’s 🙏
