Honestly this book took more time for me to get into but those last couple chapters had my jaw on the floor and tears running down my face while I was driving. Quite dangerous and unexpected. The gargoyle is 1000/10 my favorite character

It would have been a 5-star read, but the ending was the stupidest ending I have ever read.

This was my first book by Rachel Gillig.  I had heard all the hype about her writing and I  must agree that her writing is beautiful.  The book started strong but I found the middle of the book a bit slow for me.  The pacing of the story did pick up in the last few chapters and I'm curious about where the story will go next.  Although I was a bit disappointed with the pacing the writing and ending is the main reason I gave it 4 stars.
