Dea hated this book. I can't think why.

It was clever and interesting and funny. Thursday Next has a funny name, a disappearing father, and an inventor uncle. She can also jump into books, like Jane Eyre. The villain is delightfully villainous. The world is also delightful, with special forces concentrated on art--Thursday works for Literary Ops.

I was a bit disappointed that Jane Eyre wasn't introduced sooner in the book, and I think the language could've been toned down a bit... It was still an interesting read.

good, fun, v. light. great series for summer

It's an interesting book. It felt like a lot of things were thrown in because the author thought it would be neat, although some of those thrown in things worked. I found the part with the bookworms affecting the dialogue pretty irritating, for one thing. But I liked the inclusion of the dodos. The story with her and Landen seemed a little strained.

Really Fun book

I think I'd have liked this better at a different time. It is delightfully confusing and appeals to lit fiends, but it is also disappointing and a little too weird for me right now during this quarantine time.

If a Fforde book ever get's much under a 3.5, well, I dunno. I can't see it happening. They're always a hoot, and Thursday Next does not disappoint.

Very fun, sometimes confusing there is a lot going on. But ultimately it is a unique read and exceptionally well done.
