I found Girls Like Us challenging to get into.  The beginning seemed fairly slow, and it wasn’t until 150 pages in that my interest piqued. I felt the ending was a bit abrupt, and the overall plot felt somewhat outlandish. Personally, I’m not particularly drawn to 'bad cop' narratives, although I admit I didn’t initially read the summary, so that’s on me.  However, I appreciated the strong female character and the intricacies of the murder case. Despite not being fully immersed in the story, I still recommend it, as my experience is in the minority on Goodreads. Fans of police procedurals should check this one out!

I’d complain about the tropes in the book but it spoils the ending. Suffice it to say, please, please, can we stop with them?

Despite being a thriller which I typically love, I struggled with this one. I fell asleep reading it often which doesn’t usually happen when I read thrillers. The pacing was slow in the beginning but then definitely picked up. I would say that the last 2/3 of the book was most interesting.

The idea of an FBI agent investigating a dirty police force that her dead father may have been a part of was definitely intriguing.
