Because I didn't read the description nor did I take the "Vengeance" part of the title literally, I was surprised that this book was about a woman making a deal with a demon in order to murder her rapist. However, despite the heavy premise, this was a really enjoyable monster romance! The sex scenes are SPICY. I enjoyed the Nigerian setting, and I was not bothered by the murder plot.

The topics discussed in this book are heavy, but this also somehow felt like a cozy comfort read to me? I had such a good time! First of all, LOVED that this is set in Nigeria. So cool. Joy is badass, 6ft tall, and, to quote her, “deliciously fat”. I especially LOVED getting to witness her reclaiming back her power sexually, it was beautifully done. She can step on me *anytime* she wants tbh. And Malachi?? He is such a good boy🥵

“Sweet, murderous Joy, allow me to worship you.”

Listen, the smut is hot as hell, the story is compelling, and all the characters (yes even the side characters) were interesting. Overall a stellar read! I was giggling and kicking my feet the entire time honestly.

“What if I am, little tiger?” Malachi husked against her throat.

I have mixed feelings about this one. The romance was SO sweet and the revenge was good. But the ending with her friend didn’t sit well with me.
