This started off very promising for me, but the longer it went on the less I liked it. It feels very fanfiction-y, which was fun at first, but that's not a vibe I like in very large doses (at least outside of actual fanfiction), and it quickly overstayed it's welcome. By the end I felt like it had fallen into a place that's just too ridiculous for me. specifically it does this thing that a lot of monster romances do where they take this very unusual situation and this very otherworldly love interests and by the end of the book they are somehow in what is basically just a normal relationship, just with a demon or whatever the case may be, and for some reason that is just a place that I can not suspend my disbelief to.

I guess I should have known by the title, but it’s hard for me to reconcile getting vengeance on your rapist plus smut with a demon covering up your crimes. Another subreddit recommendation. Another disappointment.

I loved the premise, writing and enjoyed seeing Joy find her power again after what happened. They were also so cute together. I did not like the 3rd act breakup.
