Sweet Vengeance is the first book in author Viano Oniomoh's Sweet Demons series. This is a MF paranormal romance that takes place between a human and a demon. It's told from a third person dual point of view and has a guaranteed happily ever after. You can expect a plot of vengeance, a demon that wants to stay in the mortal realm, and lots of steam and intimacy.

It's a relatively short read, and make sure you adhere to the content and trigger warnings before diving in as it does deal with some heavy subject matter. I loved Joy right off the bat, and I was so here for her journey to reclaim herself after a sexual assault. What I think was quite special in this story is she never names her rapist, always referring to them as him. Taking the power of his name away. I loved her journey for vengeance along with Malachi. And Malachi, was a sweetheart of a demon. He was the cutest. So respectful to Joy. Watching them fall in love was just so swoony and steamy. I like how the elements of magic played into the story, as well as the Nigerian setting. I can't wait to read the next book in this series!
I don’t really write reviews, because my mind is a bit too chaotic to organize my thoughts and then actually put pen to paper. But for this book I had to try.

This book had no business being so good omg im obsessed with them they were so cute I was so sad that the book actually had to end I wish the book was longer
If I had a nickel for every book I’ve read where a demon gets pegged, I’d have two nickels. Which isn’t a lot but it’s weird that it happened twice right?
This was…. So good. Although the story is very heavy dealing with some very heavy topics (check trigger warnings) this was such a good read about a woman getting her power back and gaining something else in return.

There are definitely some super heavy elements to this story (CWs below!) but the chemistry and genuine love between Joy and Malachi make this an unforgettable story. Tbh it stands apart from other monster f*cking stories out there and I really liked the Nigerian setting.

for vengeance-screamed: death is not enough."
Overall Thoughts
I loved this book a lot! I loved seeing Joy's journey and getting her revenge. Malachi was a green flag from top to bottom! I loved their chemistry and build to them completely falling for each other.
Surprisingly cute for some of the subject matter. Some of the writing was a bit repetitive for me.
