Thanks to NetGalley and Oni Press for an advanced copy of this to review! One of my most anticipated releases, and I am extremely happy to say it lived up to the hype! Plus, it fills in a gap that can be found in YA graphic novels.
Let me start by saying once you start this, you won't want to put it down. Not only is the art great, but the characters grab you right from the beginning. Annie is rough around the edges, and BeeBee is incredibly sweet. I love the way their relationship grows throughout the story, and I would absolutely read more about them. Honestly, I would read a whole series about them and their cheerleading squad!
Frasier packs lot in this relatively short graphic novel. There are a lot of great discussions about trans women and the standards society holds them to. BeeBee struggles with this throughout the book, but her friends help her to find her voice. Especially Annie! They complement each other so well, and I just loved their relationship so much.
All in all, if you loved the graphic novels Fence and Check, Please, I think you will love this when it comes out in August!

I received a copy of this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. Here is the thing. I honestly love it.
This book is so dang sweet. It's a sweet little story that is so perfect for fans of things like Fence but make it sapphic. Honestly this is the kind of book I'm going to buy and read over and over again just because it fills me with so much glee. My whole heart is with these characters. Such great representation and story telling in such a short amount of time but it works so well. I would read ten more in this series.

Thank you to Netgalley and Oni Press for an arc of this graphic novel.
Annie needs to round out her resume with something other than academics, and her mom forces her to join the cheer squad. Even though she is incredibly unpopular at her school because of her negative attitude toward her peers, she is welcomed onto the team by her ex-friend Bebe, the new cheerleading captain and people-pleasure. Bebe is trans and dealing with the pressure of always being in the spotlight and trying to please everyone. Bebe and annie work together to improve each other as they rekindle their friendship and a budding romance.
This was absolutely adorable! Honestly, I don't have any complaints about this book. It had great rep and diverse characters, lovely messages, great character development, and the illustrations were beautiful. I loved the pacing and thought this book was exactly the right length for the story it was telling.
This book also has great fat representation and pretty dresses, so I was obviously all in!
I definitely recommend this book to readers of all ages!
