This was an unexpectedly lovely book!!  The title is misleading - it is 75% about the grand canyon & dams, 25% about the speed run. But! Still absolutely peak adventure reading!

The best non fiction I've ever read

Entrancing, convicting and inspiring. This book captures the story of the Grand Canyon and made me fall in love with a place I've never been. Simply beautiful.

I loved every part of the book. Fedarko is an amazing storyteller that makes sure you know the history and full picture of the main story so you can appreciate it that much more. A must read for everyone, great way to learn history for kids and adults alike.
