Surprisingly fascinating read. Fedarko weaves several stories together in a way that is enticing and invigorating. I’m not even that fascinated by river trips, but my dad (who at one point was a River guide in Moab) recommended this book because it’s “a good read.” And it sure was. Definitely recommend for someone who wants to learn more about the history of the Grand Canyon, and the Colorado River.

One of the best non-fiction books I’ve ever read!

While I really enjoyed the story there was just a lot of extra info for me, I totally get including relevant background but in my opinion the history lessons went on a little too long.
