I did not want to put this book down! A thrilling mystery + family drama + scandalous affair - this has it all! The multiple mysteries and story lines keeps it intriguing, and it’s just frightening enough to keep it interesting, but not violent (which I appreciated).

This book kept me guessing. I spent most of the book thinking it was one thing but then SURPRISE. It’s not what I thought. But it was so good. I highly recommend it.

Captivating- check
Kept me guessing- check
Great ending- check
Everything I needed to get me hook, line and sinker into a great, messy, thrilling read.

Enjoyable, light, beach read.

It was too far fetched as it progressed and not enough was explained or developed about their backgrounds

An entertaining story that kept me hooked, I couldn't stop listening to the audiobook.
However, the end of the book and how each story got detangled seemed unreal and an excess of exaggeration.

The story revolves around what appears to others to be a "perfect couple". Key characters include the wife, her husband, and a therapist, whose narratives are shared by chapters. Everyone has secrets and the reader is left trying to determine who is telling the truth.

I wasn't as excited with this book as I have with the author's previous books. Some details left me with questions as to their relevance (why did Matthew say his father favored him over Skip) and I didn't feel the role of Chris (Matthew's dad) was clear.

All in all, I enjoyed it but definitely wasn't up to the author's previous standards.

Dare I say, this thriller was so close to a 5 ⭐️ read for me. It definitely kept me on my toes. The players were player-ing. The twists were twist-ing. The plot was plot-ing. I understand was this was a must read and on The NY Times best seller list for sure.
