Absolutely fantastic!
The book was fast paced, jumping back and forth between maverick therapist Avery and her guilt-ridden client Marissa. The players all kept you guessing throughout the novel. A fast, tight thriller that's definitely worth the read!
Hendricks and Pekkanen have done it again. They're an unstoppable duo! I can't wait to see what they come up with next!

A read filled with twists and turns that ended up not at all as I suspected, which is always a plus. It was difficult to keep up with all of the characters at times but easy to find my way back.
3.5 ⭐️
Really liked the therapist route that this author chose to implement. The plot was expected and could've been predicted (it took me some time but I did figure it out) but I overall liked the book. Some pitfalls as I have no idea Some characters were super unnecessary or some events that were added just didn’t match the mystery at all.

What was Natalie's appearance or play in this book? She was mentioned a lot but still, I did not get her participation. Also her connection with the shop assistant, why did she point the girl in the direction of this store?

3.5 - one of the last twist were unexpected and I enjoyed how you constantly wondered who was responsible but my goodness the couple got on my nerves.
2.5-3
Why couldn’t the main character just be a life coach or something, why’d the author have to take swipes at therapy like this. Main character spends the book trying to unravel this couple like their some complex puzzle, meanwhile it’s just “man has set trap for cheating wife” - with all the pharmaceutical subterfuge and the way the MC talked about the “golden couple” I thought we were going to get some kind of more interesting spy craft reveal, or something. She’s also quite literally just…obsessed with her clients. She quite literally reveals in how “smart” following her clients around makes her, how fool-proof her “ten session system” is. Sounds like a lot of crap.
End of the day it was a quick read, it’s probably a solid three-star but I’m just in a hating mood

Meh. Kind of interesting, kind of what did i just read. I don’t know why they’re considered a golden couple. They were so dull and the characters are so all over the place. Like even the fact that they hired a therapist that lost her license (and displays this proudly as like she can provide a different perspective) but really she just spies/stalks them and baits them into their responses. Anyways, not the best but not the worst thriller.
4.5 stars. I love me some Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen. They are so excellent with their thrillers. I've loved all of them and I'm sure I will continue to enjoy them in years to come. I really loved Avery for some reason. I thought she was a great character and I was intrigued by her therapeutic method.
