khalisah1920's review against another edition

DID NOT FINISH: 52%

This book is unbelievably boring!!! I am/was just about 6 hours into the the book with about 5 hours left and had absolutely no care or concern what would happen with any of these characters or find out what the big twist is!! Almost 6 hours in and nothing interesting happened, no small twists, just a bunch of gibberish about nothing of any real importance! I did not want to waste another 5 hours of my time!! DNF!!!

More like the boring couple

If you can get over some pretty unbelievable plot points and holes it's very entertaining!

This is my first time reading books from these authors so I was excited to dive into the book. As I read the books, the characters were unreliable which helped as a reader to look at every possible angle of who did it. The therapist in the story was maybe too brilliant but I can understand how restraining her code of ethics can be but there are consequences when you go out of those parameters. For any therapist reading this book, would you consider this duty to report?

Therapist is hired by a couple who has too many secrets and every person in their lives is also filled with secrets. Everyone is under threat.

This book was so fun but kinda fell apart at the end for me

Boring, full of tropes, way too many impossible coincidences - impossible to suspend belief enough to make it through this one without rolling your eyes.

Honestly this might be my lowest rated book ever. I can't decide if i want this to be a 1.5 star or just give it the 2 and call it a day.

Just the most unsatisfying story ever, which i guess i could have avoided if i did any research on it before hand. It's just a target book i have on hand. I don't think i actually would've ever gotten around to reading this if i wasn't in Africa with nothing else to read and wifi too inconsistent to download something new.

First of all, the writing style is just my least favorite ever. This book made me realize how important writing style is to my reviews of a book, because this alone is docking like 2 stars for me. I really don't like the way this is written. It almost comes off and juvenile. The story itself is not interesting. The plot is not interesting, but she tried to write it in a way that makes it suspenseful and mysterious. You can tell she's trying to throw us in for a loop. If you're going to throw us in for a loop, do it, but it was sooooo obvious. And i am a dense woman so i usually don't catch on to things like this. The writing was trying too hard to be what it could not be.

Didn't like any characters, didn't care for anyone. Thought the ending was the dumbest thing ever. I had no patience for this plotline. The person behind the Acelia threats......dumbest reveal ever. Honestly i found that whole side plot to be ridiculous overall. I literally did not even read the last 20 or so pages. I just didn't care. Skimmed through it all.

Anyway. This is nothing against the author of course. It might even be against me. Maybe i just hate mysteries. I have no clue.
