Enemies to lovers
It was interesting at first that she was fake dating Greg, the brother, and that was how she met her “love interest”

But then I lost interest when the book focused more on her trying to beat him for the job.

Cutesy in an often kinda nauseating way but enjoyed the academic STEM political stuff and representation of research. Jack was actually a bit controlling and weird for my liking - it was clear that he was supposed to be written as a feminist and instead just patronised Elsie by taking away her agency and choices about sex/her body which was just a bit cringe really. Also just felt like Elsie needed a therapist not a boyfriend so yeah...

I do believe that this is a good romance, unfortunately I'm severely allergic to love and happy people.
