This one was a hard one to process. The book was written as testament to how technology can ruin society. The author did a great job of exploring this in the book so I can see the appeal. However, the writing style drove me crazy. It's rudimentary in its style and immature. The characters are polar opposites in their ARCs. Violet, the main female protagonist is well fleshed out and relatable. While, the male protagonist, Titus, is completely flat and disassociated. Again, I pretty sure it was written that way to explore the theme not compliment the ARC. This book has won awards, not because of the writing of the style, but because of the message. Being that I had to read this for class, I'm going to judge it from that point of view and not my personal taste. So, I'm giving it 3 stars for the academic appeal and the message not the writing.

The audio book for Feed was a little frustrating to listen to. The dialect, voices and continuously intruding advertisements annoyed me...a lot. The demolishing Earth and respect for human life is scary since some things that happen aren't so far from the truth. It was funny that I became more attentive to the conversations of teens and young adults around me. The incomplete sentences, use of vernacular language and lack of depth in conversations is pretty realistic. I think this may be a hard sell for teens but there is a reader out there somewhere.
