This book is one of those that stays with you despite not having a very like-able protagonist or the best of writing. The images are haunting but less so than hint if reality in this science fiction piece. With news in the past few weeks that Facebook has been experimenting on us all this book is one that would be read and widely discussed so that we are part of deciding what our Feeds will be like.

Read this years ago and it has stuck with me for over a decade. Makes me think twice before ever agreeing to implant something that interacts with my brain. Great YA voice and an icy cool dystopia.

This book was difficult to read as there are LOTS of nonsense words/slang since it is set in the future. There are some parts that I found unsettling in regards to how our future may look in terms of technology....I sure do hope it doesn't turn out the way it did in the book! I do fear that if we (humanity) don't put more regulations/restrictions on social media, we could end up resembling the humans in this book & experiencing some of the same difficulties/dilemnas. While I do enjoy reading dystopian literature, I found this one hard to follow because of the futuristic dialogue and setting. However, fans of science fiction will probably have no problems with that and will enjoy this book.
dark sad

admittedly not a fan of the
‘manic pixie dream girl gets seriously ill to further the mmc’s development’
trope in here, but this is really strong in spite of that.

would make for a great tandem lesson with fahrenheit 451.

This was an ok book...I liked the futuristic type distopian technology and such but
it was sad the whole Violet literally being slowly dying and Titus meanwhile is just ignoring her messages and also going out with Quendy like lalala everything's goin' great not a care in the world! Like what the crap bro she's actually DYING right now get over yourself and be a good friend
