The narration of the audiobook is great. The over-the-top trauma everywhere that somehow is to be magically cured through flowers and the clean wrap up at the end however gives the story the feel of a soap opera in the end.
There is virtually no description of what anyone really looks like other than Alice's long black hair, noticeable because it is mentioned so far into the book, and Twig's weight loss when she finally meets Alice again.
I thought for sure Twig and June would be a couple, or that Candy's affection for Alice would have a sexual side, but no this book somehow remains staunchly heteronormative and apparently mostly white apart from Lulu and Ruby.

No likable characters. A storyline that bounced between miserable and horribly boring. Almost DNF multiple times but stuck it out due to none of my other holds being available on Libby. Novels that center around abuse are not for me so I may be too harsh of a critic, but there were truly no redeeming qualities whatsoever in this book. I RARELY give out 1 star.
