Really good book. parts were slightly predictable (imo) but the ending really was great. Very good, sort of obvious that it's meant for a younger audience, but I thought it really had some elements that were great as an adult reader

We listened to this as an honor selection for newbery bingo. We enjoyed it and found it engaging. It wasn’t perfect but in the scope of newbery books this was one of the better ones. I was worried at first that it would be too similar to Elle enchanted and we would get them confused reading them so close together but after the first few chapters it differentiates itself. I felt like this book was split in two sections: before the ball and after the ball. While Reid said he liked the post ball stuff better he also admitted that section was a bit scary. I kind of hated the main reader in the full cast audiobook production, so might not listen to that version again. I will also say that the story is a low key love story so I might recommend it for kids a bit older than six but it’s petty tame so I think that stuff goes over a younger kids head, maybe 8-10 is the best age?

Revisited a nostalgic childhood favorite and loved it just as much in my audiobook re-read (it has a full cast and is a beautiful audiobook)! But what they’ve done to these covers is terrible!!!

A quick, easy read. I liked the themes of being true to yourself, listening to your instincts, and doing the best thing for those around you. Alli and I are reading Princess Academy together, and I read ahead. I liked Miri's struggle to decide between two good options, and I appreciated the way that the characters in the book were shades of gray in their goodness, and that their hostilities and bitternesses were revealed in backstories.

For whatever reason, I could t get into this the first time. I finished it but I just wasn't phased by it. But it turns out that it's pretty great. I enjoyed it a lot. And now I've read the sequel and LOVED it! Glad that I returned to this one. I probably wouldn't have if I hadn't discovered the amazing Goose Girl story she wrote!

It's soo good that even me, who has a terribly hard time re-reading books, has been capable of reading it twice. :)

I listened to this as an audio book. I would not recommend that particular method....The large cast was quite unusual. But the book was awesome. I'd definitely recommend it. I'll definitely be reading it again. (But READING it. Not any of this audio book business.)

Tenille bought me this book for my birthday. I read it all in one day. I loved it!! Super cute, super fun.

UPDATE: Read it again in August 2019. I couldn't remember a lot of the story, so it was kind of like reading it again. Such a cute book.
