Heart-wrenching and beautiful. I had to put it down for a couple of months because the grief of losing my own semi-absent father and beloved grandmother a year & a half before still felt raw, but at the same time so much of the story was healing to me, and so beautifully imagined.

Sooooo good - and narrated by Marin Ireland! I think I will be thinking about this one for a while and really liked the story of a parent and child and the love they have for each other

I didn’t know what to expect but was pleasantly surprised. It has similar themes as the Midnight Library, but it’s a bit lighter. I liked that it centered a flawed but loving father-daughter relationship.

I have to collect myself first before I write out a full review of this novel, but let me just share a quote from this marvelous, meta masterpiece:

“Sometimes people didn’t understand…that fiction was a myth. Fictional stories, that is. Maybe there were bad ones out there, but the good ones, the good ones - those were always true.”

A beautiful meditation on grief, love, and loss, with an interesting spin on time travel that makes it just unique enough without adding too much confusion/rules to keep track of. I loved the father daughter relationship that centered the story, as well as the friendships and themes of life not “ending” at a certain age. Thoughtful, profound, and gorgeously written. 4.5 stars!!

This book was very low key and a bit slow in the beginning. Once the excitement (time travel) ramped up in about the middle of the book I was intrigued. I read it very quickly on a plane and enjoyed it, but wasn't compelled to demand that other people MUST read this book.

It had some great reminders in it: life is short and your choices matter. Make sure you tell the people that you love, that you love them!

Fitting as I was on my way to a funeral in said plane.

I absolutely adored this book. It was funny, witty, entertaining, endearing. Exactly what I needed at this point in time. Absolutely heartwarming. The relationship between Leonard and Alice is so touching and everything that is strived for in a father daughter relationship. It’s realistic yet fantastical. And oh my gosh Ursula! How old is this cat? All Alice’s friends are so enjoyable, even Tommy. I loved Kenji’s appearance at the end too! Perfectly wrapped up with a bow on top and I’m obsessed. One of the best reads of the year for me.

Took me a minute to get into bc I’m not a time travel girl but roughly 70% through I got hooked. Didn’t cry but felt like I could’ve.
