wasn’t what i was expecting (in a good way, mostly). i wish we got more about each character but all in all a thoughtful book.

I liked her other books better. Personally, I am not a fan of time travel books and think that is a large reason why this one did not do much for me.

I really liked this! Based on description it sounds cheesy and I probably wouldn’t have read if not for skip the line loan on Libby. Interesting and not too science fictiony take on time travel. I laughed at the negative review “couldn’t stop thinking about how old the cat was.” I’d give 3.8-4.0 stars.

This is a cute-sad book about nostalgia, middle aged regret, and parental death. Time travel is involved. A fluffy book with serious themes. I liked it.

This story about a 40-year-old who keeps re-entering the Manhattan of the '80s and '90s on her 16th birthday was deeply nostalgic to me. Although I'm 20 years older, I also grew up on the Upper West Side of Manhattan as a child of privilege and I lived there in the '80s and '90s. The shops, the restaurants, the streets, the private schools were all enjoyably familiar to me. Like the heroine, I was raised mostly by my late father whom I adored and now greatly miss. The night after I finished the book, I had a dream that I was talking to my father about my life, as I did. He was famous for his wise advice, and although I woke up before he could answer me, it was a wonderful dream. When I told my sister about it, she said, "I'm jealous, I wish Dad would come to me in a dream." For that alone, I would always be grateful to this book.

I adored this book! I loved the Upper West Side/New York City of it all, I loved the hints of magical realism and how it explored fate and choice. And I loved the father-daughter relationship at the heart the story.
