DNF. Boring, boring. Read to 30% and skipped to end. I kept thinking it would turn around. It did not.

Lighthearted easy read. Wasn’t super impressionable on me but it is a nice description of a father-daughter relationship which is nice for a change.

Huge plus: It’s low on the romance and show-cases the life of a single woman really well

I almost threw this book across the train when it unexpectedly turned into a time travel novel - especially after the disaster that was One Last Stop - but I’m glad I stuck with it because it ended up being the book I wanted OLS to be (albeit not gay).

Part 1 was a little rough - far too much description of how to get around NYC. I've never been so have no frame of reference. I skimmed through most of those paragraphs. Starting with Part 2, it really kicked it into gear. Overall I enjoyed the story and even teared up a little in the end.

I don’t understand how a novel can be simultaneously so schmaltzy and unengaging. The protagonist has a pretty great life and doesn’t appreciate it. She has this almost hero worship of her dad but he seems pretty… meh for a dad. It seems like we spent a ton of time figuring out if she should sleep with the guy. Or maybe a different guy. As if that’s what matters. There’s so much extra here for what is essentially a less good version of the midnight library.

A fantastic book club choice with lots of themes to discuss. This book hit me just right. Alice time travels from her 40th birthday to her 16th, reconnecting with her teenage friends, first crush, and her father at his healthiest. As 40 year old Alice cares for her father in hospice, 16 year old Alice tries to make changes to the future. I book darted the snot out of this book and teared up at the end. This might be one of my top books of the year.

This book felt like a warm hug, the relationship that Alice has with her father is so sweet. I’m not usually super into time travel tropes, but I did enjoy this. It wasn’t overly done, though the NYC brags were, and not so subtly.

This book is as excellent as everyone said it was. The time travel element is perfectly written. The cultural references to the 90s are absolutely spot-on. For me, the best part of this book is that it's a beautiful story of father-daughter love. I didn't want it to end.
