I really enjoyed this book - it reminded me of a tamer Zodiac Academy - without the bullying and all the sexual tension.

The structure of this book is clear: Setting the scene is done with lazy and quite unimaginitive worldbuilding. The Rising of action is boring and done at spped and then the final showdown is anticlimactic and contrived. Following of that is a predictable consummate of their love and then the cliffhanger to the next book. A completely forgettable book
I have finally found a New Adult dark academia series! With that being said, the characters are still slightly childish here and there. Very similar story lines and magic systems as Bloodline Academy. Instead of angels, Atlantians (Atlantis). Themes, characters, and magic systems similar to books like Zodiac Academy, Bloodline Academy, and Dark Blood Academy.

Not the hottest piece on the market, but still reasonably good. The beginning is not annoying (which is to say something about the whole genre) and the end tends to be quite captivating (letting aside the cliche and the over the top drama-lama).

This book was sooooooooo much more! It was nice not having it based in “high school” and the characters were older. (Even though the books with the High school theme didn’t really seem like high school) I always love getting in to a new world Jaymine Eve has created and this book hits the mark. I’m very excited to read and learn more about this world.
