thought a little more about this and decided there’s just too many things i didn’t like to justify giving it 3 stars. as a book, it was entertaining but slightly boring - but as a finale to a five book series, and you could even argue, a closer to ten books worth of arcs and backgrounds - it’s a failure. the execution was horrible, i didn’t like how so many things were done!!, and finishing this series just left a bad taste in my mouth. there’s too much for me to go into right now, because i don’t really have the time, but i’m glad i’m done with it so i can move past to hopefully brighter things (percy jackson & the chalice of the gods).

3.5 stars.
I like the book and the series as a whole. Mark of Athena and House of Hades were incredible and i enjoy most of the newer characters. I love Leo, I laughed out loud multiple times because of him. I love Hazel and Frank, even though they were almost absent in this book. I really liked reading about Nico and Reyna and their secondary quest, I think that is the part i enjoyed the most about this book. I find both really interesting to explore.
However, I have the strong impression that the heart of this world is Percy. The moment Percy becomes a secondary character, the books are not as enjoyable to me. I still liked reading this book but I would have liked his point of view.
Not a huge fan of how Gaea was defeated, too.
