I have been hoping through this series without following the chronological order. First, I read GOF and loved it. Then I tried to read GOM and couldn’t get past the first few chapters. Third, I read GOP and liked it, but I was noticing a similar pattern with this series, so GOW was calling to me, especially since I knew it was set outside of college and that Ava had a different depth from the other characters in the series I had read so far.

Moreover, I loved the book. Ava’s mental health was taken seriously, and it wasn’t just a simple plot device. The whole story was entertaining, with all this back-and-forth between the present and the past; sometimes, it even felt like a thriller.

Particularly, I think my favorite character was Ava. I just wanted to hug her and sometimes shake some sense into her, but who can’t blame the girl with everything she has gone through, and how she didn’t want to be a burden.
While I initially loved Eli, I was turned off by his reasons for liking Ava and his behavior at the start of their relationship. Nonetheless, even if he had orthodox methods, it was beautiful to see how he always put her needs and well-being before his.

It's not normal to see this type of character let go of the girl they are obsessed with. The way he gave her space and tried not to trigger her was especially touching.

If they had been better at communicating, many of their problems would have been solved.

Finally, I would have liked to read more about their first two years of marriage, particularly how he took care of her, then the times when they were all lovey-dovey, because they deserve it so much.l

Mixed feelings about this. I didn’t mind the whole plot line but it felt so far removed from the rest of the series because it’s set further along in the future. Which makes sense because we already know a lot of the plot of all the other story lines. But it
Just felt a bit disconnected.
