This was a series of books recommended over and over again as dark romance like the LORD series. I loved this series despite its wild shenanigans much more than the LORD series but it still has some morally black characters. So don’t go in thinking it will be sunshine and rainbows lol. This is not a pitch black book by any means but definitely read your trigger warnings.
This is book 6 and all about Eli and Ava. I was not prepared for the seriousness of the sadness I was going to experience in this story. Of course there are the dark and spicy bits, but there were huge struggles in here I was not expecting. There is som much mental health in this story I can’t even explain. There are mental health concerns in every single book of this series but this is the first one where it is one of the primary plot points. Ava was not a favorite of mine in the previous books but I have so much empathy for her character in this book and her Pops. Eli seems like a huge a-hole but he is really going through it too. I don’t love his or Creigh’s style of loving I think lol but Eli is still superior to his little bro but he has less trauma so that tracks despite his sociopath tendencies…. This wasn’t my favorite of the series as it would be impossible to dethrone God of Fury but this was a really great book but not as light of a read as some books in this genre.

Everyone else’s relationship in the series pales compared to Eli’s love for Ava… the things this couple has been through…
Aaaaah I love them sm! And I love Ava, finally a likeable and confident fmc! She’s so sassy and funny but also classy.
I think the only thing I didn’t like about the entire book was the writing at times and how the author slipped back into her ways with the copy paste of all the mmcs in dialogue, even tho Eli’s char is quite different to all the others.
But I’m choosing to ignore and shove it to the back of my mind and give the book a 5 stars bc I did enjoy reading it regardless of the cringe!
