Definitely a book that you get out as much as you need at that moment in life. For me, I did like it, but it wasn't as impactful as I was expecting it to be. Although I did highlight a lot from this book for the future, some of it felt a little repetitive to me.

I also got this from the library, so I felt the need to read it in bigger chunks as opposed to taking my time to digest everything in tiny chunks so it was a bit exhausting to read that way. Definitely a great book to own and come back to whenever you need little nuggets of wisdom.

Patiešā skaista grāmata. Viegli lasās un ik pa brīdim atrodas atziņa tieši man un tieši šajā brīdī.

“It’s okay to be broken.
It’s okay to wear the scars of experience.
It’s okay to be a mess.
It’s okay to be the teacup with a chip in it. That’s the one with the story.
It’s okay to be sentimental and whimsical and cry bittersweet tears at songs and movies you aren’t supposed to love.
It’s okay to like what you like.
It’s okay to like things for literally no other reason than because you like them and not because they are cool or clever or popular.
It’s okay to let people find you. You don’t have to spread yourself so thin you become invisible. You don’t always have to be the person reaching out. You can sometimes allow yourself to be reached. As the great writer Anne Lamott puts it: Lighthouses don’t go running all over an island for boats to save; they just stand there shining.
It’s okay not to make the most of every chunk of time.
It’s okay to be who you are.
It’s okay.” ✨

This book is so aptly named. I will be reading it over and over again, especially returning to it in difficult times. It is nothing more than a simple collection of musings - akin to reading his diary, but it brought me peace and hopefulness. What more can you ask for right now?

Very beautiful and comforting.

This book is the living proof that you don't have to tell an actual story to move people or to make a point, to make sense or even to teach them something. This book is really about how you should build your life, from the ground up, bit by bit, learning something new every day from just experiencing life and add that to make it a tiny bit better.

It's full of stuff. Some you'll like and cherish and remember for the rest of your life, some will be just useless for you and you'll forget them in an instant. But in those pages you'll find a plethora of emotions, ideas, stories. You will question yourself and your life, find historical facts about other people, learn about an inspiring life of the author, see the universe through different perspectives. It just has it all for you to discover at your own pace, in your own way. It doesn't push you to read it, it invites you to.

It's genius stands in it's simplicity. Come as your are, open mind, open heart and open this book wherever you want and reflect on what you just read on that page. Then do it again and again. You'll see what I'm talking about.

Reading it, for me, felt like opening a wooden chest forgotten in the attic and finding treasures of all kind, of sentimental value, learning things about my past, seeing it through different perspectives and be hopeful for the future. I'm certain no one that read this book entirely is able to tell me that it didn't find anything of value within it's pages (or else they are lying).

The best incentive I could give you about this book is just randomly open the damn book and read it already haha.

what a beauty 0f a book..
