4.1 AVERAGE

i should have just DNFed but i was committed to finishing the series 😭

Maybe I’m just too old for this… thing!

Plot : awful and mundane
Characters: linear and without any depth.
The spells: kindergarten style

I can’t even say okay it’s young adult and pass. When I was actually a young adult, we had harry potter and Darren Shan novels and Deltora series.
This can’t be even a fanfic thing on Harry Potter. It’s more like a parody ( seriously the spells!!!!)
I didn’t drop the series after the first book, or even that mumble jumble of the second book, I went through it all wishing it will come to a good conclusion that worth reading it, sadly that didn’t happen.

The writer knows how to write. The text is readable and beautifully written. But the lack of other necessary things made it an insufferable read. (I hate leaving things half read or watched. I had to finish it)

What a satisfying end to this series. I loved how much of it was Simon and Baz grappling with their feelings--about each other and themselves. The Chosen One plot was also interesting, though I think pretty clearly not the focus of the novel. I loved Penelope and Shephard's dynamic and their whole story, and I even warmed some to Agatha here. I also think that was the perfect ending for her--girl finally gets to fuck off into the woods.

There were a few loose ends that didn't get tied up, but I'm sort of okay with that--I don't need a perfectly neat ending. The book is a little messy, as the characters are, and that's okay. It was extremely enjoyable the whole way through, and I'm definitely going to have to reread this series at some point.

I can't believe this is the last Simon Snow book, I need there to be so many more. I love this world and the characters so much, especially Baz. I really loved this book too, but it didn’t really give me the big epic ending I was expecting. The whole story was very fun and interesting, I liked the storyline about the other chosen ones and it was amazing to see Simon and Baz figure out how to be a couple. I would have liked it better if Penny and Simon spent more time together, but Penny and Shepard's storyline was also very interesting. Everything with Agatha was also fun to read, she and Niamh were great together. I would have liked it more if Simon found out about his family sooner, it felt a bit rushed at the end. I also think there was a bit too much happening after the big fight, but those were just a few small things I didn't like, I still loved this book so much.

don't get me wrong, I loved this book, but it's so funny because it is just so completely different from the last book. like there is basically no more mentions of what happened with the vampires taking over Silicone Valley, which sounds ridiculous typing out LOL. I wasn't really bothered by this, but it is kind of funny how there isn't a single plot that this series has been defined by other than the snowbaz ship HA

Great ending to the series.
