4.1 AVERAGE

**spoiler alert** I love Simon, Baz, Penelope, and Shepard so so much. I love their relationships, their witty humor, and their stupidity. But the plot for this book was ALL over the place. For one, Simon only finds out he is the Mage and Lucy's son at the END of the book. Like literally, only 20 pages left. WE HAVE KNOWN SINCE BOOK 2?!!! Irritating.... I was waiting for it to be relevant to the plot, but alas. Also, what was the whole deal with Smith? He was, I guess, the main "villain" of the (last half) of the book, and nothing... really... happened.... he made Simon immune to magic, but that wasn't until the end of the book. SO MUCH COULD'VE BEEN DONE WITH THAT! I did like the stress he put on Simon and Baz's relationship. Poor Simon wanted to trust him so bad. :(

What I did LOVE was the development of Penelope and Shepard's relationship, as well as Agatha and Niamh! I was SO sure that Agatha was queer when she couldn't figure out why she didn't like Simon in that way but I'm pretty sure she's bi. It was never explicitly stated, and I don't mind.
I really liked the way Rowell showed Snow's difficulty figuring out his sexuality, while being SO sure of his feelings for Baz. I love those two.

I was so angry to see the epilogue only have 2 STINKIN PAGES. Agatha the Goat Herder was such amazing character development, and we didn't even get to see any of it :(

I loved that this book was so fun. The characters are so exciting and easy to relate to. But the book is rather slow, for being so long. I think the last bit of the book was amazing! It was exciting, the things that happened made me feel so much love for the characters. But that was all in the last 250 pages of the book, which I just didn't love. I really wanted to finish this trilogy, and I did, so I'm happy about that.

It’s always easier to make a decision when your back’s against the wall, and there’s a knife at your throat. No time to think; just do. Grab the thing you need. Grab the thing you want. Steal the kiss. I’d live like that all the time if I could. I’d make all my decisions jumping out of second-storey windows.

4.5*

A perfect conclusion to the Simon Snow trilogy that had me covering my face and squealing in delight the entire time. It was basically just a story of three adorable ships getting their happy ending (while dealing with the infinite problems of the World of Mages in the process). It was super cute and super fun and i’m glad the story wrapped up the way it did.

Merci. Super.

Very satisfying ending

It took me a second to get into this, because I was trying to remember what happened in the first two books. After I kind of just let it go I really enjoyed this book. I enjoyed the storyline and it made so much sense to go this way. I felt like the last book kind of went a whole different direction from the first book, but it's come full circle.

I liked how most things concluded and I loved Simon and Bas' relationship and their development. I some times don't enjoy gay romances as much as I can't always relate, but the way Rainbow Rowell writes about their connection and their intense feelings for each other the logistics didn't matter. It's all about the emotion and I was here for it.

I also loved the new characters and I think they just enhanced the gang really well.

I love this book so much
