"Oh, Meg, you are a moron. Don't you know you're the nicest thing that's happened to me in a long time?""

Meg is a young girl who is probably neurodivergent and acting out because her father left. Then she gets swept away into space with her younger servant brother and random boy by three witches? They end up on a utopian planet that idolises sameness and have to figure out a plan.

Who was this book written for? I thought it was a kids book but I was so confused but it was also incredibly dull and disjointed. At least the sci-fi was cool and the robotic human was sassy.

It was weird but good. But didn’t blow me away.

More of a 3.5/5

I picked this up on audiobook because I was afraid it was just going to sit on my bookshelves forever and I’d never read it. So I saw it on audio at my library and it’s believe-a-thon month so I picked it up!

It was a quick read. I found it intriguing with everything that was happening but not my favorite.

good, but I felt like some parts were just outlined... like the ending was really short... and a lot of the story felt blurry and weird sometimes too. It would have confused me as a child.

I am late to the party with A Wrinkle in Time, having only really read the book this past year. I enjoyed this book, however. Even though there are some parts that feel a little dated, it is worth a read. Very much looking forward to the movie!

I read this book with 3rd/4th grade students in summer writing camp. It was ok. Nothing captivating. Maybe if I read it in elementary/middle school, I may have loved it.

While the book has many of the usual young adult story aspects, if the reader looks deeper there are many things that resonate with adult readers. The book is very intelligently written - so that it can lure the young reader while also entertaining the adult reader. The overall messages from the author about good versus evil, learning to use your strengths and weaknesses, and to never give up hope are lessons that can strike a chord with the reader no matter their age. A great book to reread as an adult even if you already read it years ago.
