I really struggle with self- help books. I don’t know if it’s a cultural UK v USA issue or if it’s just me! In principle it’s a helpful tool but it’s another example of trying to stretch an idea out into a book. I would suggest if you want to learn more head to Mel’s Ted talks or her Instagram page which are just as helpful.

I've seen her videos on social media and I really enjoyed what she had to say. Her videos have helped with some of my anxieties and also with procrastination. Her book was recommended by a youtuber and for some reason, I decided to check it out.

This is a tough one to rate. I want to give it two stars because she was rambling throughout this book. And I also want to give it a five because reading this book, at this time of my life, when I did in fact need it the most, helped me out a lot. It jumpstarted my batteries which have honestly been depleted. There was nothing new in this book. It could be summed up in 5 seconds. No joke. But it makes sense. And it does work. For a long time I've been waiting to feel like doing certain things. This isn't to say i've done nothing, but i have stood in my own way with a number of things and it has weighed down on me.

Her advice works. And I have renewed hope. So thank you Mel Robbins.

Listened to the audio-book. Love Mel, such a powerful speaker, the book had fairly simple concepts, but as she suggested, harder to implement.

But you know, her stories & tone just resonate with me, she could tell me how to walk & talk and I'd probably feel like I learned something!

There is a special place in book hell reserved for cash grab books like this.

The useful part can be summarised in one sentence:
When you decide to do something, count backwards from 5 in your head, and then force yourself to do it before your brain sabotages you.

Bam, I just saved you £8 and 260 pages of filler. You're welcome.

Enjoyed this book although I did find myself less interested at times - this was my first book from Mel & I really like her perspective. I found that there was A LOT of testimonials in the book. The ending really got me - the last 2-3 chapters were amazing & I plan to listen to again & again just to simply refresh my brain of the reminders she gives.
