This book was very accurate to this movie, it didn't stray far from it. However, I think Mean Girls works better as a movie, and the book isn't the right medium for it.

Wow, this was really enjoyable and had me chortling with laughter! It's very true to the movie — the storyline and characters are exactly the same, and (almost) all the iconic quotes have been retained.

What makes this book special is also how the story is told from various POVs instead of just Cady's so it was very interesting and insightful. I definitely enjoyed reading what Regina George was plotting and what was going through Janis' mind. There were also extra bits like shopping lists by Regina George's mother and Karen Smith's ideas for Halloween costumes etc etc, which made the book even more fun.

I think this book captured the essence of the original work very well and makes a great companion to the movie. Fans of Mean Girls will appreciate this.

There was just one quote I had been looking forward to that didn't make it into the book:

It didn’t really add anything to the movie, but still it was enjoyable.

I was given an ARC of this novel.

Seeing as it was based on the movie it is 90% word for word the script for the movie. I'd definitely recommend it to those who don't like movie but still want to be in on all the talk of this movie.
