I liked that I didn’t know for sure who was behind everything. Kept me listening.
I was disappointed in the ending - very last 30 minutes.
Too implausible with the “whodunnit reveal” and the way the two main characters ended up. Would have rated it higher with a different ending.

Gripping Mystery Thriller by author
Loreth Anne White. I've enjoyed her previous work.
A Dark Lure is a captivating and suspenseful page-turner that delves into the haunting aftermath of a brutal crime. Featuring complex characters and a fast-paced narrative, this expertly crafted thriller kept me hooked from beginning to end.
Twelve years ago, Sarah Baker, now known as Olivia West, endured a horrific ordeal at the hands of the Watt Lake Killer. Abducted and sexually assaulted for months, she managed a daring escape, but the trauma left her shattered. Struggling with PTSD, Olivia has rebuilt her life, finding solace working on Broken Bar Ranch.
Just as Olivia begins to heal, a police officer involved in her case remains convinced the killer is still out there. When a fresh body is discovered, Olivia is forced to confront the unthinkable - could the murderer have returned to finish what he started? Packed with unexpected twists and turns, this gripping psychological thriller & mystery kept me entertained.

Heart pounding and horrifying! My first thought was, how stupid the set up! Giving up the identity of an abuse victim up front, but this book is both terrifying and unput-downable. Loves how it approaches troubled family dynamics and forgiveness. 12 Years ago Sarah Baker was abducted by the Watt Lake Killer and kept for months. She lost everything, marriage,Ethan, child. Struggling with PTSD Sarah changes her name to Olivia West moves and starts her life anew at Wyatt’s ranch. However a cop, Gage Burton, who was on the case, believes that the wrong man, Sebastian, was caught and Watt is still out there, he must protect Olivia and catch the real killer.

If I could give this 3.5 stars I would. It was highly entertaining and kept me engaged but I can't say it was a superbly written book. Well-written, but not one of the best written I've read. Still, it was a page-turner and well worth the read.
