I have been hearing for years that David Sedaris' books are super funny. I decided to try this one. I got about 10% in and didn't find it funny at all. Like, not even a little bit. I found it rather boring, in fact. Maybe this was meant to be one of his serious books? If so, can someone recommend his funniest book?
I feel like this might have be his best so far...
David Sedaris has created a great mix of darkness, humor and absurd thoughts. I love that he has no filter, openly sharing things that others would bury deep. My favorite stories were the ones featuring his siblings – their love-hate relationships and dynamics are very entertaining. I don’t think I’d get along with any of them in real life, but I love getting to be a fly on their wall.
Very funny short stories that will keep you laughing long after the book is closed.

Biting, outrageous, poignant, hilarious, devastating. David Sedaris is who I in my wildest dreams wish to be; someone who is able to ask strangers about their driving habits, and someone who can share their most intimate selves with the world. There's nothing quite like a Sedaris story. There's no way any of it is true, I believe every word. I'd recommend this to everyone under the sun.

I love to hear Sedaris reading his own stories. Fantastic!
What can I say? David Sedaris just makes me feel better.
