emotional funny lighthearted medium-paced

Some kind of humor that I cannot fully understand.

This was my first Sedaris, and I'm ashamed that I never read him sooner! David's dry observations and perspective are a hoot. The chapter with feeding his tumor to a snapping turtle he was obsessed with - I could NOT. Had me absolutely rolling!

As was recommended to me, listening on audio is a must for Sedaris.

My first encounter with David sedaris and I absolutely love him. Hilarious and sharp, this was thoroughly entertaining

I really enjoyed this book of short story essays, and it felt like one of the more personal collections I've read by David Sedaris. It was heartfelt as well as dark and disturbing, in only the ways that David can pull off. This book focused a lot on his health and relationships with his family, and felt like a true window into his life.

Read this book in a day, have never felt such a strong kinship with another writer, and will most definitely reread more times than it will make sense to count.

Another David Sedaris book. They are just so enjoyable as audio books

David Sedaris never disappoints. Great collection of short stories.
