I just love him. If you've not read David Sedaris before, this is a better option than his one from earlier this year, Theft by Finding. That one, while I loved it, didn't feel like Sedaris until late in the book. This one is classic Sedaris. Also, I now notice and innerly cringe everytime I say "awesome."

Very pleasant, funny, and all-around delightful to listen to (audio book read by the author, which is becoming my favorite thing). David Sedaris is ridiculous, witty, and self-aware in a way that is entirely relatable and unique at the same time

I found this book hilarious. Glad I finally got around to reading more David Sedaris.

I liked this one a lot. I've had mixed feelings about Sedaris and his work over the years, but this one's funny and (as I think I read on the jacket copy or in a review) more personal than some of his others.

Sedaris writes with such particular deftness - no word is wasted. The depiction of living in a big family and their conversations, trips to the Emerald Isle, and the dynamics between them was incredibly well done - I felt like I was eavesdropping!

My first venture into David Sedaris' writing. Lots of dark humour, interesting anecdotes, and reflection on family which I enjoyed. But I don't think it blew me away or changed me as a person so I'm refraining from giving it 5 stars for now. We'll see how it holds up in the future.

David Sedaris is a total MOOD. Why have I not discovered him earlier? TALK ABOUT THE YEARS I’VE WASTED! Bumping this up as one of my favourite reads this year I DON’T CARE!

A book about nothing and everything. He’s done it again and I don’t know how. This one a little darker than the others maybe, but with just as much wit and shine, somehow.

My husband and I have been listening to David Sedaris books on road trips for years and were excited to have this one on our most recent trip. This was poignant and funny. It had a lot of stories about his family and those are always my favorites.
