I liked this a lot more than I thought I would. I’m more in it for the romance, not so much the smut. Don’t get me wrong, there is a LOT of smut in this book - 5 or 6 sex scenes iirc - so if that’s your thing, it’s here for you and it’s spicy! Monster stuff obviously but there’s also a *kinky* power exchange dynamic that I loved (the titular DDLG). It’s done well too. A tad fast, as romance novels often are, but consent is established before every scene and I didn’t find myself worrying about the sub (as I do in other books where consent is not so clear, cough). My only gripe would be that new things were added mid-scene; male MC would ask at the time but still, maybe that could’ve been clarified beforehand.
Outside of the sex, my thing is the hurt/comfort aspect and the emotions that played into the power exchange. I also liked that the female MC held her own in the relationship and wasn’t shamed for her desires or line of work. There was no “how dare she not be a virgin / accept money for sugaring” etc, which is all too common in romance novels.
There is a miscommunication/angst trope, but it felt blessedly brief and somewhat believable in context.
Overall this is a great book if you love smut, or if you’re like me and are fine with smut but prefer the romance.

Emotional abuse was between mother and adult daughter. More alluded to in the past when daughter was a minor, occasionally shown in present day.
If you're in the mood for a Monster Daddy Romance with lots of steam and stolen ancient artifacts then definitely give this a try! This debut novel caught my eye the moment I found Jillian's tiktok. I knew I had to read it, boy was I right! I devoured this entire book in one sitting and I am now obssessed with Titan. The plot, spice, and world building were amazing. I will try to keep it short as I don't want to risk giving away any spoliers.
After Jules mother betrayed her at 18 years old, she found herself in massive debt. One that has left her unable to pay, and with only one option, becoming a sugar baby. In her search for a sugar daddy, Jules finds herself roped into a situation involving stolen artifacts, magic, deals, corrupt movie producers, and gargoyles. One specifically, who's intent on showing her why she need to learn to let go of her control.
Titan, a domineering Gargoyle has found himself unable to stay away from Jules the moment he sees her. What starts as a simple interview to fish for clues, ends with a deal that will prove harder for him to end. Titan agrees to becoming her sugar daddy for a week in exchange for her giving him access to certain places, releasing control of her mind and body to him, and fighting the need to keep her. Between the woman he can't seem resist and the Keystone, Titan will have to decide what is more important to him. All while handling the pressure from his brothers and other creatures to find the missing artifact.
I absolutely loved the relationship between Titan and Jules. I especially loved how Titan didn't judge Jules for her choice of work. Though he did frustrate me at time when he wouldn't listen to her or her reasoning, but when he finally did it was so worth it. And I really enjoyed Jules strength and unwillingness to allow anyone to judge and take advantage of her, specifically when it came to the situation with her mother. Her pride was both her strength and downfall. I can't wait to find out what going on between Rook and Eden. This is definitely a must read for all the Monster and Smut Lovers out there!
