I’m kind of obsessed with this setting? Lou is 150% the definition of bisexual disasters and I want these characters to be protected at all costs (not you Jessa). I love a good meddling friends trope and Nick might be the King of it

I loved the idea of a YA romance at a small, regional amusement park. And our intrepid heroine is hoping she gets picked to be the princess this year. But no, she is once again, Hot Dog Girl. Oh, the indignity, but she takes it in stride and vows to be the best dang hot dog at the park (and only one - it's a small operation).

She admires from afar one of the diving pirates. And who wouldn't? Pirates? Who dive? Sign me up.

But, love might be closer than she thought.

It's a great exploration of YA feelings towards attraction and romance and finding out who you are. It's delightful, and unexpectedly deep.

This book is fine. I don't find Lou all that loveable, which made it hard to root for her. The humor was great and the awkwardness didn't give too much second hand embarrassment. I liked how we got to see the real Nick, but I wish we had gotten more of an explanation of the Jessa situation. I'd definitely give Dugan another chance, since I did like the style of writing.
