This was a cute, contemporary romance that I read at the beach. While I didn’t find it particularly amazing, it was still a good read. The main character annoyed me at times, as she was very whiny about the park being closed down and some of the things she did were downright creepy, but I loved Seeley and am very glad with how the book ended.

Looking at other reviews I’m shocked this book has so few 5 stars! It was such a cute queer romance for the summer and I loved it so much. I think the reason for that might be how much I related to some parts. Reading the many times Elouise struggled with the thought of coming out to her dad really hit home for me and the way he reacted in the end honestly nearly made me cry from the huge fear that that won’t be the coming out reaction I get. (Oops got a bit too personal there with this review) But anyway I loved it, it was the perfect queer contemporary book I needed at the moment.

fave quotes:

"Books are interesting, Lou. The evolution of mankind is interesting. The way people utilize social media to subtly manipulate the reality of their lives is interesting. Nick Mulholland is not that interesting." - Seeley

"You have to understand that things change; circumstances, people, everything changes. Instead of fighting against the tide, what you really need to do is learn to swim in it." / "What if I don't want to?" / "Welcome to adulthood." - Mr P & Lou

I am definitely in love with my best friend. Fuck. - Lou

Maybe I'm a crappy human, but at least I'm a good hot dog. - Lou
