Penny has never had the best luck with love, so it’s pretty shocking when she meets not one, but three different men who are interested in her over the course of a few months. How will she ever pick one?

Overall, this one wasn’t for me. It started off promising, but got very slow in my opinion. I really struggled to get through the middle. I also didn’t find myself rooting for any of the 3 men in her life, I personally didn’t feel the chemistry with any of them.

I did love the fertility story line though, and I would have liked the book more if that was the focus. I found myself wanting to know more of that aspect of Penny’s life.

Thank you to Avon Books and NetGalley for a digital copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This book started our SO STRONG. It was funny and a bit saucy and I loved all the representation in it. And then...I don't know what happened. It was just becoming ridiculous. It had me scoffing at the ridiculousness of it. The ending was so unrealistic and silly I just don't know. I feel like the first half was amazing and then I just wasted time reading the second. I feel like the ending was SO rushed and it was written by teenage girl.

This book was a nice easy read with a happy ending. I feel like we didn’t get to know the characters in all that much detail and I think my own personal preference is fiction wrote from the protagonists point of view. However, it did make me laugh in parts and shone light on an important topic of fertility after cancer so could really help someone going through that.

** also found the Lizzo thing a little bit random?

Re-read this recently as I had almost forgotten it but soon it all came back to me. Would make a great holiday read and I recommend reading the other books by the author too.

A sweet story of a woman figuring out what makes her happy, as she dates three different men. This was a well-done version of “multiple suitors”. There’s the one she’s meant to end up with, but they both have to figure things out along the way. Penny is a great heroine, real and flawed.

This was an enjoyable and engaging read, very light-hearted from start to finish. However it was a typical romantic comedy and I was looking for a little more from it than just the standard set-up. Even though she’s pegged as having three love interests, it’s obvious from the beginning that there’s really only one, so there was no real dilemma and the plot fizzled out a bit.

Overall not my favourite romance but still an easy, fast-paced read if you’re looking for one.

I was lucky enough to read Laura Jane Williams’ latest book, The Lucky Escape through Netgalley and then found her previous book on a Kindle Deal recently. I think I preferred this one.

Penny is a chef who owns her own small cafe in London. She lost her mother at a young age to cancer and then battled it herself. At the time she arranged for her eggs to be harvested and fertilised with help from a donor and now that things in her life have stablised, she is considering a surrogate to start her family.

The only problem is that she hasn’t had much success with a partner. So when Italian chef Francesco comes to deliver bread one day to her cafe and her colleague takes his details she doesn’t get in touch even when she is tempted.

Then just when the two do connect again, her uncle is ill and she needs to take charge of his pub in the country and leave London.

Then starts a situation where Penny doesn’t just have one person interested in her but three... Thomas who isn’t into monogamy, Prijesh the older wine dealer and then Francesco who arrives back in Penny’s life.

But really Penny needs to decide what she truly wants and not live her life to please everyone else. I really enjoyed this story and struggled to put it down until it was finished! ❤️
