More of a 3.5.

If you feel the way I do about sheep and green cliffs and finding a fixer-upper-of-one's own, this is a darling book about community and words and gumption. Warning: best read with tea and knee-high wool socks.

Not a bad book or story - but the longer I read, the less I cared.

This was the perfect read for a busy time. I loved picking this cozy book up every day. I always love a good tale of little towns(Irish too!) with interesting people. I love that Hanna was able to reinvent herself through the house and also her perspective on things. I love reading about people coming together for a common good and the way Fury aided at the end of the book was priceless. Great read.

I really enjoyed this book! If pressed I'd say it lands somewhere between 3 and 4 stars for me. I loved the last third especially for its character development and community (I love found family) and the plot line regarding Hanna's "home of her own." I only wish the entire book had had that footing, as the first third definitely felt slow to take off. Still, who can resist a book about saving a library?

What a lovely Irish story about a librarian trying to save her library and the family dynamics of her family and the other villagers was charming.

Centered around Librarian Hannah Casey, this delightful novel introduces the reader to a variety of characters on the Finfarran Peninsula in Ireland. Hannah is rediscovering her life after raising her teenage daughter, Jasmin, as a single mum after she walked out on her cheating husband. Returning to the town where she grew up and her mother's home proved difficult, but as she branches out onto her own now that Jasmin she begins to invest herself into her work and her town in new and eye-opening ways.

This is a delightful start to a light, amusing series, perfect for fans of Maeve Binchy, Rosamund Pilcher, and similar authors.

Slow and a little boring, but a great night time read before bed. I liked the sense of community and showing how important it is to rebuild community since we've become so isolated from each other.
