Bleed Like Me by Christa Desir is a book that I picked up because it was wicked short and also because I really, really loved her debut, Fault Line. My review here

This was terrible. Gannon was a terrible main character and so was her love interest. I just couldn't with them.

The writing was very, how do I put this?, cliche and over the top, meaning that when Brooks got angry, his words were so unbelievable. Like I didn't believe his anger, I didn't believe anything.

I don't know. Everything fell short in this book.

this book reminds me of bad things by Mgk and Camila. like wHat-

three things:
- first you will need a box of tissues going into this and a LOT of motivation, almost fell asleep 4 times, which beats six of crows (3)
- i mean michael, i love u but u a little too.. uh cray cray... no offense tho
- olivia, sorry, i borrowed the book from you 2 years ago and-
well you didnt ask for it back....

This is a super dark read that I wasn't able to put down. Overall, I really liked how the characters' relationship was so toxic yet you didn't completely hate it at the same time. I also think the author handled the dark topics in the book very well. However, I was kinda disappointed with the end and would have like a little more closure. It seemed like everything was rushed at the end a bit.
Great read!

Loved this book.

I've always had a proclivity towards really dark stories. Those were the first types of YA books that I really got into. But for some reason I stopped reading those books and turned towards fantasy for a long time. But after reading this book my love for these dark contemporaries has definitely come back.

This definitely reminded me of Sid and Nancy (which is a really interesting and sad story that was made into a film, which I recommend!). Gannon and Brooks are perfect for each other but they also are very bad for each other as well. They both NEED someone to love and someone to love them. Their addictions consume each other.

In the beginning, you want to love Brooks, I know I did. The bad boy, the one who seems like he really cares, like he'll be able to fix Gannon. And maybe he does fix her for a moment or two. But then you realize he's a paranoid, scared, boy that needs just as much help as Gannon does. While you become angry at Brooks and his choices I couldn't help but feel sorry for him and wish things could have ended differently.

That ending. I had to reread it a couple of times. In actuality, I was a bit disappointed in it. But that's just me wanting a semi-happy ending and I still have to remind myself that this rarely happens in these types of books.

I really enjoyed the author's writing and I'll definitely be reading more of her work. Overall, it was great read and I really do recommend it for anyone interested in darker contemporary stories.

Very Ellen Hopkin...ish. I'm interested in reading her other books.

2.5 out of 5 stars.

Gannon thinks she all alone in this life. But then she meets the new boy, Brooks. Two emotionally scarred teenagers, and they enter into a passionate, dangerous romance.

This book was a whirlwind romance, and I don't mean that in a positive way. There was so much passion, and I though Brooks was going to be good for Gannon. She seemed to need someone, especially someone focused on her, unlike her parents.
