The idea of her finding out she was kidnapped as a 6 (or 8) yr old kid after her “mom” dies is an interesting premise. Everything after that was weird. How all the memories came back. Who remembers that much at 6? The fact that this is written like a second chance romance bc they kissed before they were even 10?? That this is somehow a brothers best friend trope even though she barely knows her brother …. It was 20 yrs ago. And how no one seems super interested in getting to know her as an adult. And the biggest. …. She finds out this BIG thing about her life and … then it’s just swept under the rug. The only real hassle being getting her US citizenship back …. W T F ?? Just sweep the actual story under the rug and focus on the same old hockey romance “story”??

absolutely loved the plot of this book but the lack of family bonding after such trauma, the immaturity of the MMC, and the lack of groveling was disappointing. the spice is hot and the side characters are phenomenal (I have high hopes for them).
First half was really promising, but then it got weird. He’s super unlikable.
