Not really into this story.

So my real rating is a 3.5 for this book. Definitely a good story, but not one of their best. There was a little too much happy butterflies going on for me.

I did enjoy the storyline idea, but it just felt a little too easy I guess. Definitely falls more under the romance than Rom-com sector. In the story two people meet in London, then one ends up hurting the other. Years later they meet again unexpectedly and finally hash out the truth of what happened.

As far as content, there are a few sex scenes. Thankfully they were quick and easy to skip through. Definitely a decent amount of cursing. Genre would fall under Adult Romance.

Ok I am a huge fan of Christina Lauren and have been working through their catalog and this is the lowest rating I've given them so far....

I f**ing HATE Sam! Like due literally is the worst even after his 'reason why' like dude F* YOU! and Tate still had to do all the heavy lifting in getting this relationship back?! Come on, ugh! There needed to be more groveling and Sam really needed a part where he stepped up and showed Tate he was all in but that never happened. Even at the end Tate ran out to help him...not a fan of this one ladies but I am ultimately
a fan and will continue to gobble up everything they put out ;)

I'm a Christina Lauren boom addict. This one was lovely. Skip the audiobook and go pick up a copy. The narrator ruined the experience for me.

I really enjoyed this book until the ending. I felt like there was still a lot left unanswered

Sigh... I was SO excited to read this, mostly because of how much I enjoyed a couple of their past works, but this book really missed the mark for me.

I really liked the first third of the story. Almost all of the chapters taking place in the 'Fourteen Years Ago' section were so well done, and engaging. The way Tate and Sam were together was so cute and sweet, it actually made my heart happy. Especially with lines like this:

“It's so crazy to think that things that I thought only lived in my imagination can be real." He reached out, tracing my mouth with his fingertip. "But then I touch you, and it's like every fantasy I ever had coming true.”

My biggest problem with the book is the male lead, Sam. He really spoiled my enjoyment of the story by what he did to Tate. I understand his reasoning for it, but if he had gone to her and explained everything, she would've helped him, because she just loved him that much. The fact that he didn't even try to apologize or explain by, at the very least, leaving a note, is just unacceptable. All of this really made him come off as just a heartless asshole. By the very, very end (after the emails) I started to come around, but by that point it was to0 late.

I will read more by these authors in the future, because I do think that they're really talented. This book just happened to not be for me. (It did make me really happy to see BTS mentioned in the acknowledgments section though, like how cool is that!?)
