Un libro contado a modo de relatos de cada una de estas mujeres, que nos habla de la dificultad que tienen para entenderse y comunicarse entre sí, tanto por la brecha generacional como por la diferencia de culturas en las que fueron criadas.
Un libro tremendamente interesante que nos muestra un trocito de cultura china, las penurias y dificultades que tuvieron que pasar sobre todo sus mujeres en determinada época, y como la falta de comunicación puede afectar a una relación tan sólida como podria ser esa entre una madre y una hija.
Muy interesante y recomendado.

woooof this is generational trauma in a book lmao wish there was more admonishment of the eye-for-an-eye events in this book
I liked the individual stories and being able to see the points of view across multiple generations however it was hard to keep track of who was who and except for the daughter who went to China and found her half sisters it didn’t really seem like there was closure for any of the other women.

Really loved this book and is on brand for me since I finished the Fortunes of Jaded Women. I loved the multiple narrative format and learning about the moms’ upbringing in China and their journey here and the parallels with their daughter’s lives. Definitely an emotional read and loved it all, a bit too descriptive at times but enjoyed it overall.
I was so moved by the mother-daughter dynamics in this book that it brought me to tears. Somehow it perfectly captures the essence of what it means to be a women who experiences pain, pride, love, disappointment and redemption in life.
