What a great book, the concept Kafka created was really interesting. The story lets the reader feel the desperation of being in a completely unknown situation prosecuted by some reason that one doesn't understand. I really hope the book were finished but it is so great that it lets your mind fill in the blanks.

I think people don't give credit to how funny this book is. Now, it certainly is no Douglas Adams or Mark Twain, but Kafka perfectly captures the type of humor that comes after a long, bad day when you get your jacket stuck on the door as your entering your apartment. The last unbelievable thing that makes you laugh, half out of frustration. I found myself laughing this similar type of laugh at half of this book, with the incredulity of it all. Of course, it is also a deeply cynical and dark, book, but there is also something infuriatingly amusing about the whole situation. All in all, a classic.

Franz Kafka's The Trial feels like an unfinished book, with many narrative threads
that lead nowhere. Perhaps this is exactly the point Kafka wanted to make.

K. is placed in various situations
that seem to lack the conclusions
. Despite his successful career, his arrogance toward the trial, combined with the many attempts he makes to save himself
(all ultimately unsuccessful)
, reveal just how lost he truly is.

I found it a bit frustrating and strange that
the reason for the trial is never revealed.

One of my favorite parts was the priest's story and the discussion surrounding it.

Another aspect I noticed throughout the book was the way women are portrayed. They often seem to be dismissed or objectified, and their roles lack depth.

The events in the book seem random and without purpose, with no clear conclusion. But maybe this is Kafka's lesson: everything is meaningless.
