This book feels slower pace compared to previous books, Maybe I felt that way due to a big chunk of the story coming from the supporting character's POV while the main characters pop in here & there. This could be a double edge sword, if you love these side characters then cool happy days for you. However, if you don’t then this could feel like a slog to go through. I could tolerate that because I like these side characters enough even though some of them are not that interesting at the start of the book. I must admit that Xivan & Kalindra did not hook me up until almost the end of the book which dampens the reading experience for this book. Sheloran is a nice addition to the cast, I like her attitude also she got quite an interesting background. Always liked Galen from the first book so nice to see him come back. Talea also got more fascinating characters this time due to some revelations in the book. A bit disappointing for Qown since the focus of his character development that he got that he realizes that he “runs” at all (wink to Dorna).
The plot reveal is still as usual like the previous books even though presented with different methods this time. The danger that loomed in this book, unfortunately, settled up with a quick resolve whether it is for Vol Karoth or Suless that could be done so much better. The battle scene is also quite step down compared to the big battle from the last book. However, I like that Jenn Lyons did not take a path of hopelessness and despair for this penultimate installment of the book instead giving the main characters a nice ace on their sleeve for the final showdown.
Overall 4 stars for me, I Hope that the final book will deliver a satisfying conclusion for this saga.

This was a great installment in the series. There were def some flaws, especially in the middle of the book I was a bit confused about some of the ways plot elements were explained away/resolved. However, there was great character development, and the world continues to grow as well! Onto the last one!
This book feels like a puzzle you're half sure you've done before. The pieces are there. You know the vague shape the picture will take, but the steps to get there elude you.
Complication and detail are the name of the game with this series. This book is no different. But oh buy did it change the game in a number of ways. I am excited to see how the story ends.
