I was so excited for Gibsie and Claire and they did not disappoint !! I loved every bit of this book but it was so heartbreaking : everything we discover on Gerard’s past, the development of the Dee thing, how we learn that he pretends with everyone, the way they loved each other since they were TODDLERS.

Also the fact that the timeline was after redeeming 6 was PERFECT i honestly would’ve hate it if it was before or during the first books.
ANDDD all the Shannon/Johnny moments 🥹🥹🥹 my babies. And the way Joey behaves is insane I love him so much here !!

Still, it can’t be a 5 ⭐️ because of Lizzie, sorry not sorry, she was unnecessarily mean, nasty, wicked like give the poor boy some rest ??? Why couldn’t she understand ?? Why would she be so horrible towards him ?? God I know what she went through was horrible too but ?? no

This was a hard ending to read, the first half of the book wasn’t as gripping as the other four were, but it really picked up halfway through.

not happy with the ending. it should have gone on further with gibsie and how he learned who he was as a person and how to cope. especially with such detail going into shannon and johnny and joey and aoife. i honestly feel a bit cheated out of what could have been an phenomenal 5 star read. i have never cried like that to a book so i am upset the ending was so rushed

I never thought in a million years that I would be rating a BOTs book less than 5 stars because I genuinely love this story but...
I don't know what to say other than I needed MORE.
This was Claire and Gibsie's book.... but where was the romance? Where was the couple from b13 and k13? The romance and even the spice was all overshadowed by all other events especially Lizzie.
That's not to say that I didn't enjoy the book... I thoroughly enjoyed finally being let in on the truth of Gibsies past and to finally understand. But this was Claire and Gibsie's book... their ROMANCE book and it didn't give that at all.
I loved the writing and the story like always with this series but I definitely wanted to see the pure love between Claire and Gibsie more like we're used to with the other 4 books.

I love a heartbreaking story but this was traumatic. MCs are childhood sweethearts trying to figure out how to transition to a romantic relationship while navigating teenage hormones and childhood trauma.

I like this book and I really enjoyed it so giving it 4 stars feels unfair but compared to the other books in the series I was a little disappointed. I needed more of them. All of the other books are like a million pages long and this was done in 6 hours for me, like WHAT? but the plot was addicting, even for a reread, so I highly recommend it. I think that their next book should be even better (hopefully) and that people will stop hating on what the author did to the plot. I went through and read some negative reviews and it doesn't even make sense because in the end the author can bring the book wherever they want, and it was clear the plot had been thought out and planned.
